Theatres for Theatres

Brief / Background

Theatres for Theatres is an exciting three-year initiative to raise £4million to help fund two new state-of-the-art operating theatres at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The theatres will be used to treat children with complex and often life-threatening neurological and craniofacial conditions.

Work involved

The scripts and idea were already part written when we were asked to get involved, so we made sure the storyboard reflected the original idea which was to link the Theatre Stage and the Hospital Operating Theatre. The film featured a young patient, Ellie who has been treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital throughout her life for the craniofacial condition, Crouzon syndrome.

We followed Ellie’s journey as she met the surgeons who had treated her during her time at Great Ormond Street Hospital, highlighting the facilities and why the support is so greatly needed. Jonathan Pryce (who is also a patron of Theatres for Theatres) provided the narration and a message of support

We filmed over two days on location at The Comedy Theatre, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Fountain Studios in Wembley

The DVD will be included in the fundraising packs
